Tri-Cities Tuesdays

Today I am posting the first Tri-Cities Tuesdays post, oddly enough I am leaving the Tri-Cities for a mini vacation tomorrow though.  Here are some photos that I have taken in and around the Tri-Cities area of Wsahington state.  It is in the south east part of the state between the Cascade and Blue Mountain ranges.  That means that we are actually in the rain shadow of the mountains.  Parts of Washington don't actually get much rain.  When I moved here, everyone I knew from the East Coast kept asking me how I liked the rain and if I was tired of it yet.  Turns out, we get at the most, 1 inch of rain a month while back how it maxed out at at least 4 inches in one month.  So I miss the rain.  Here are some photos that I have taken here.  Some of this are on my Etsy store already.

The Yakima River one year that it froze.

This was taken in Kennewick to show off just how far you can see around here.

Hope you enjoy these photos.  Just as a reminder, these photos have a watermark or logo on them which will not be printed on any print that is purchased.

Flower Fridays

Here are some more of my flowers.  All of them are purple-ish at least.

A little fly on the flower.

I haven't a clue what these are but they are cool!

I thought this was really pretty also.

I will probably make this as one of my color pops, what do you think?

This will be a color pops also and I probably will do some other fun stuff with this one.

Some stats and stuff

I just thought that I would post some of the stats from my Etsy store just for kicks and giggles if nothing else.  I have 76 shop hearts so far.  My photo Sunset-Richland has 5 hearts just by itself.

My Autumn Road photo has 9 hearts, 222 views and was on the Front Page of Etsy!

Flower Friday (one day late)

I really meant to post this last night but hubby was hogging the computer.  Here are some flower photos that I have recently taken.  I haven't altered them in any way except to change the size and add my watermark on them.  I will eventually 'process' these photos and crop them, color correct them and clean off any lens spots that shouldn't be there.  I may also do some of these as my 'Color Pops' photos.  In those photos, I alter it to be all black and white, then add the color back only on the flower.

I know that this is a rose and I might even have the actual name of it somewhere but I just thought I would ask for opinions on if people liked the super close up photos.
Super Close up on Pink Rose
I think that this is a zinnia

I probably should know this one.

I KNOW that I should know this one but I get mixed up sometimes on some of the names.

I don't know this one either.
Any help on these flower names would be greatly appreciated.  I am thinking of having a blog contest here on my new blog at some point so keep an eye out for it.

Howdy All!

I just got done with a meeting with my great Etsy team, EasternWATeam.  We talked about Secret Santa, gearing up for the holiday season, and branding.  We talked about how important logos and the brand that we put out to the public and how important it is for it to be easily recognizable.  So I will possibly be making some changes and attempting to come up with a logo for my store.  I am not sure what to use yet, other than the photo that's in my avatar.  If anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions, I would definately welcome them.
As I type this, it is only 65 days until Christmas so I need to get some good ideas for getting my shop noticed.  I may see about doing another blog contest and see how many people I can get this out to this time.  I think that I might give extra entries to people who post it on their Twitter, Facebook and their own blogs instead of just giving them an entry for following me on those three.
I will be doing some work on here later tonight, be prepared for the blog to change color at the end of this month.  I was going to change it now since pink is no where near my favorite color, until I remembered that this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This is a very important cause for me as my mother is a survivor.  Please do monthly self exams and get a mammogram at the reccomendation of your doctor.  They really are no fun, but they are definately worth it.
Tomorrow, I will start the Flower Friday posts.  See you then.

So busy...

I was the featured shop on my Eastern Washington Etsy team this week.  That means that everyone on the treasury making group of that team, made treasuries for me!  I had a bunch of amazing treasuries and a big surprise when I woke up one morning to find that I was on the Front Page of Etsy.  I haven't made any sales yet but I am sure they will be coming soon.
On the home front, we have the crud here.  My 4 year old missed school on Thursday cause his teeth hurt, his mouth hurt, his knee hurt, everything hurt.  I was going to take him to the dentist then he fell asleep and woke up fine.  That night the 6 year old started complaining about a sore throat and he was hot.  We got up to go to school on Friday and I looked at his throat and decided to take him to the doctor to see if he has strep throat.  He doesn't just a case of tonsilitis.  Last night then, hubby sent me a text message and said he was putting the kids to bed, then going to bed himself at 8pm since HE wasn't feeling good.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't get the crud tonight.
I will be posting some more things on here later today after a birthday party, if the 6 year old is up for it.  I was thinking about having the Flower of the Day (or week) post.  I love to take pictures of flowers but I don't always know what kind they are so I am going to post the photo here and see if people can leave the names in the comments to help me out.
Talk to you all later, need to try to feed the kiddos.

Eastern Washington Etsy Team Featured Shop

I am lucky to have been chosen as the Featured Shop for the Eastern Washington Etsy Team starting on Friday.  I am so excited!  The Eastern Washington Team (EWAT for short) has a group of people who make treasuries.  Treasuries are what Etsy will look at to put on their Front Page (FP).  I am very fortunate to be part of this team that has treasuries on the FP often.  I will see about posting a list of the treasuries here so that everyone else can see them also.  Even if you aren't on Etsy, it's easy and free to join.  Once you join, you can purchase all sorts of neat things or just leave comments on the treasuries.  The more comments, clicks, and hearts that a treasury get the better the chance of it being on the FP.  Hope to see you all there at http://www.etsy.com/shop/KZShots

Welcome to my new new blog

I had a blog on another site but I wasn't able to post all sorts of gadgets and neat things that I can here.  I will be trying things out in the next day or so and then I will officially open this blog to everyone.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know.
